Thankfully, I purchased a local SIM for my cell phone, so I was able to use Google Maps. Also thankfully, I was able to find a kind local to show me where the cell phone store was, since using these maps to navigate to the named cell store, had me to multiple locations where there was no cell store. Trying to use this map to route me from downtown St. John to my resort (Hawksbill Beach Resort), it told me to drive in a straight line, across jungles and mountains directly to the destination. (This was, of course, impossible.) Also, when trying to return to the airport to pick up some family that flew in a few days after us, this map took us on some very sketchy "roads" (mostly rocky, dirt roads with splotches of asphalt) to the back of the airport, where we were directed to go "off road" (and through the airport fence) to reach the airport (which was a point on the runway!)
All that said, I will grant that it correctly took us to a few destinations, but I had no confidence & ALWAYS made sure their route agreed with the Google Maps route & destination. I do feel I would have been stuck if I had relied on these maps, alone. I think the $30 I spent on the local SIM were much more fruitful. Had I known, I would have just used the $20 for these maps to buy more credit on my local phone plan.
