mistakes and many POI's not includednOne night we set out for a restaurant at a resort that has been around for years. The GPS had us drive right by the road we needed and then took us down the road that led to one of the Pitons. It was getting dark and we were on a road that had switchbacks and clearly wasn't where we needed to go.We figured out that we were in the wrong place and fortunately the road was wide enough that we were able to turn around. On another day we went into Soufriere and we needed to get gas before we headed out.The GPS completely messed up and took us out of the town and then back via the Sulphur Springs, We were on empty by then, but thankfully the man at the entrance to the Volcano let us drive through so we wouldn't have to go uphill and back the other way. On our drive back to the airport, the GPS took us on a very poor road that went up and down and back and forth and ran parallel to the road we should have been on.All in all, not very impressive and not worth the money we spent on it.

St. Lucia GPS map - USELESSnThe roads in St. Lucia are very bad and dangerous in the mountains. There are practically NO road signs, so you don't know were you are. The GPS with this map shows your car and gives you the information "DRIVING ON THE ROAD". There are very little destination places you can choose from this map. It does NOT accept the geographical names, the resort names. So, $20 in your pocket will be just as helpful for driving as this "map" in your GPS.

Saint Lucia Garman GPS MapnI was disappointed that the maps only showed the two main roads around the island. It also only showed the two main cities of Castries and Soufriere and the Hewanorra Airport. I was expecting more detail of the other towns and roads.

Limited on Garmin 62snUsers should be aware that handheld GPSs will not display all the functionality of the maps on the micro SD. I assume a car based sat nav would give more complete maps, POIs, voice instructions etc which my Garmin 62 s doesn't.

All biased for sat nav use; no off road features such as footpaths.

St Lucia map is OKnThe map was OK to use, but not as good as maps I've had for some other Caribbean destinations. Specifically:

(1) It did not have many of the main tourist attractions listed in Lonely Planet (e.g., St Tille Waterfall, the Diamond Botanical Gardens, Fort Charlotte at Morne Fortune). It also did not have my hotel (Auberge Seraphine, Castries).

(2) The driving time estimates were way off. I'm used to the estimates being too short, but these were not in the ballpark at all. One route that was estimated at 1 hr 2 mins took about 1 hr 40 mins. Another estimated at about 30 mins took about an hour. The terrain is very hilly, so you can't drive fast, and the driving estimates don't seem to properly take that into account. Don't rely on this map to estimate driving times to the airport for your flight home!

(3)On the major ring road, the GPS voice would tell me in x kilometers to turn onto the road I was already on. More a mild irritation than anything that caused problems.
